Ankaran is located on the far northwestern part of the coast and borders Italy. It’s known for its beneficial climate with favourable health effects and a string of well-maintained beaches.
If you take a walk among olive groves and vineyards, you’ll reach a cliff that steeply drops into the sea at Cape Debeli Rtič. The precipitous rocks of the cliff are from 12 to 21 metres in height.
The Debeli Rtič Landscape Park is one of the rare areas on the Slovenian coast with preserved unspoilt nature and rich biodiversity. It’s home to many indigenous plants, and because of its shallow depth the bottom of the sea has many sea organisms, making it a point of interest for scuba divers. Its popular for its beautiful beaches and stunning walking paths.
