Active experiences in Kranjska Gora
Winter sports are inviting you. Make your choice between skiing, snowboarding, cross-country skiing, or even ski jumping. In the vicinity of Kranjska Gora, you can also find excellent sledging hills, which cover many kilometres. The Tamar Valley and Mojstrana provide numerous opportunities for ice climbing.
There’s plenty to do in the summer months, too. There are enough hiking trails for all tastes, from recreational walks to advanced mountain and climbing tours. There’s also something for runners, for those who prefer flat surfaces as well as for the lovers of mountain running. If you’re a serious mountaineer, don’t worry: there’s something for sport climbers as well as lovers of secured hiking trails known as via ferratas.
There’s a network of cycling trails in the area surrounding Kranjska Gora. Cyclists who are used to steep hills and mountain biking can enjoy a bike park. We haven’t forgotten about your children, who can gather their first experience in a kids’ bike park.
Paragliders start their paragliding experience at the Grpišce take-off site and on other peaks. If you don’t dare try it out alone, go paragliding in tandem. Or you can get your first taste of heights if you go zip-lining.
If you’re a fan of fishing, go to the River Sava Dolinka, which flows along the main road from Podkoren to Mojstrana. If you have a fishing licence, you can go fly fishing for rainbow trout, marble trout, and Arctic char.
Kranjska Gora is alive throughout the year. It’s the noisiest during Alpine skiing World Cup races and ski jumping in Planica.
