The Kamnik-Savinja Alps are among the most established areas for paragliding in Slovenia. The combination of favorable thermal conditions, varied Alpine relief and easily accessible take-offs creates excellent conditions for flying, which is why the area has been attracting both the more experienced and those who want to experience the feeling of flying for the first time for many years. Some enjoy peaceful gliding over valleys and mountains, while others take advantage of the excellent thermal conditions for longer flights and exploring the Alpine landscape from the air. It is the diversity of terrain and quality flying conditions that make the area one of the most recognizable paragliding destinations in Slovenia.
The heart of paragliding in the Kamnik-Savinja Alps is Preddvor, where the Turbulenca Paragliding Club also operates. For many years, the club has been taking care of the development of paragliding, the arrangement of take-off and landing areas, organizing training and competitions, and offering visitors tandem flights and information about flying conditions. The good cooperation between the club, the local environment, and providers has significantly contributed to the area being well-known even among foreign paragliders.
