Hop On - Hop Off

Kamnik - Savinja Alps

Discover the Kamnik-Savinja Alps this summer with the “Hop On – Hop Off” shuttle service

Travelling around the Kamnik-Savinja Alps will be simple and sustainable again this summer. Visitors and locals alike will be able to set off on their way with an organised circular shuttle service that will run all days of the week between 22 June and 1 September. This year’s novelty is a slightly modified route, as the van will also stop in the municipality of Komenda.

The Kamnik-Savinja Alps are an exceptionally picturesque part of the Alpine world and provide a stunning backdrop for a wide range of activities and nature exploration. With growing tourist and local traffic, especially during the summer season, providing a more environmentally friendly way of getting around in this area is a central desire of the participating municipalities.

The circular route offers easy access to the most popular tourist spots, as well as to the hidden corners of this beautiful Alpine landscape.

The van, which can carry up to 8 passengers at a time (or more on request), runs twice daily. In the morning it goes one way and in the afternoon it returns in the opposite direction. The van will run every day during the selected period, starting on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays in the morning in the direction of Luce, and on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays in the morning in the direction of Komenda. This allows sustainable transport users to adapt the day and the trip to their preferences.

Passengers can access the transport at the bus stops in Kamnik (main bus station), in the centre of Komenda and Cerklje, at the bottom station of the cable car to Krvavec, in Adergas, in the centre of Preddvor, in Jezersko at the bus stops at the Municipality and Planšar Lake, at Plesnik in the Logar Valley and the Rinka Centre in Solčava, in the centre of Luče, at Kranjska Rako and in Kamnik Bistrica at the bottom station of the funicular to Velika planina (or the lower station of the funicular to Velika planina). The timetable will be published on the website of the Kamnik-Savinja Alps  and on the websites of the participating municipalities. The transport times and pick-up locations will be adapted to passenger demand as necessary.
