    Hiking festivals in Slovenia 2020

    Hiking festivals in Slovenia are a great way to enjoy nature. You can explore the countryside and unspoiled nature, or even head into the mountains with an experienced guide. There are trails for all types of hikers, where you will make new friends and explore the unknown and hidden corners of Slovenia.

    Alpe Adria trail via Lipica

     

    You should definitely join the two-day hike on the European Long Distance Paths E6 and E7, leading from Dolenjske Toplice to Dobrnič (24 April) and from Dobrnič to Žužemberk (25 April).

     

    In Bohinj, the 14th International Wild Flower Festival will run from 22 May to 7 June.

     

    In Rogla, the annual Hike Rogla-Pohorje Destination hiking festival will take place between 12 and 14 June. If you love the unspoiled forests of Pohorje, this festival is not to be missed.

    The Kamnik-Savinja Alps offer an abundance of great hiking trails. Events in this region include the Slovenian Mountaineering Day in Luče on 13 June and the Kamnik-Savinja Alps Hiking Festival, which will take place between 18 and 21 June.

     

    The best hiking season is definitely autumn. If this is your favourite time of year, you should take part in the autumn hiking days across the Rakitna Plateau and Mount Krim.  Or you may head to the Tuhinj Valley, where the Hiking Days in Tuhinj Valley will take place between 19 and 20 September.

    Slovenia has an abundance of hiking trails that you can hike alone or with an experienced guide. You can go hiking in all seasons, all year round.

    Hiking trail via Goriška Brda

    Between 18 September and 4 October, the Soča Valley Hiking Festival will offer opportunities for hiking in the valley of Soča.

     

    The Posavje Autumn Hiking Festival will also take place in October and November. Lastly, autumn is a great time to visit the wine-growing region of Goriška Brda. There, the annual St. Martin’s Day hike in Brda will be held on 20 November.
