I feel Slovenia HIGHLANDER Pegasus Julian Alps starts next to the Bohinj lake, a glacial valley embraced by the Julian Alps. Lake Bohinj lies in the heart of the Triglav National Park and is the largest Slovenian natural lake, nested at the foot of unspoilt mountains.
After leaving Bohinj, we will head towards Bohinjska Bistica and Vrh Bače and head towards hidden beauty; Baška grapa and Podbrdo. From starting in the alpine climate we will slowly enter sub-mediterranean climate and you will feel the difference. We will finish on the banks of Soča river in Most na Soči. But it is not just about hiking, there is something more for each of you. We will be able to learn about geology and history, there will be yoga and meditation classes and interesting storytelling at the evenings. After you cross the finish line, there is another adventure waiting for you. You just have to refresh yourself in the emerald Soča river. Soča is a wild pearl of Julian Alps, with drinkable water that only reaches 12 degrees during summer. But the adventure still doesn’t stop there; you can return to Bohinj with a train through a railway tunnel, which is excavated under the mountain chain you just climbed.
I feel Slovenia HIGHLANDER Pegasus Julian Alps is a challenge that requires preparation but you don’t need to be an experienced mountaineer. You need to be in good physical condition, used to walking, but technically the route is not difficult (please see tab Route). And of course, you need a desire to be part of an unforgettable adventure!
